Taking the winter sun with her Sarah Kay hat. Love to suck remote controls!

What did you say?

One more... I love her in this outfit.

February 2011

Lucrecia and Claudio in his favorite hugging pose.

Kiss kiss. Look at her elbow!
Nice hairdo Clara! This was the nanny´s doing. I do not have that kind of patience.

The concurring images of exhaustion and satisfaction.

In Calamuchita, visiting granpa Hugo. Clara poses as we start an exploration walk.

Cleo and Violeta come with us. They are interested in a fox that has been visiting the house.

The Explorer With A Missing Tooth has spotted a Mother.

Meanwhile, the rest of the family takes a nap.

Clara is a bit scared by the Spirit of the Woods in La Cumbrecita.

Helechos. Ferns? in La Cumbrecita.
Riding with Granpa. Quite a long stretch! It took them one hour to get there.

Yes, I can sit down properly now!

December 2010

December 2010. The girls sleep comfortably on top of me.

Christmas celebration at Marta´s parents place. Lucrecia is inside the blue backpack.

Juan Martín and Lucrecia belly down.

Juan Martín and Lucrecia belly up.
Mmmmm the cousin tastes good!!
OK, I will not eat her while she is asleep, do not worry.

Lucrecia

Proud Big Sister and Hairy Little Sister. Mother will never forgive me for not having her hair shaved on time to avoid this kind of picture.

After seeing Lucrecia at the hospital for the first time, Clara came back home and made this small instalation in her room.

Yes, I have my dark moments too.

But you will forgive me, because my hands are sooo tiny!

One is losing her teeth, the other one cannot hold her head... Still a way to go.

I don't think I like this whole water and soap business.

Clara's 7th birthday

Starting the run. Paula please GET OUT OF THERE!

Clara makes sure Paula does not get into harm's way.

Following the kid's playing.

The cake. Tomemos rápido la foto antes de que se termine de evaporar el merengue.

I didn´t get any candy at the piñata BUT this is tasting really good!

Eating sandwichs and wearing glasses at the same time is not as simple as it sounds.

Visit to Dresden

I love Maia's pose in this picture.

All the Girls. Sorry, Carsten. You must have taken the picture. So you kind of are there in spirit!

Clara and futbol

Clara makes a gol (goal? how do you spell this in proper English?).
And almost gets one!

Pelopincho

Playing with our new dog Violeta in the pool.

Kindergarten end of year party

Clara and Melania in their not-for-long-clean summer uniforms. We love the uniform because it has ended our customary morning arguments on how pink delicate sandals are inappropiate to spend the day running around when  it is 5 C outside.

An intermediate between songs.

With her Kindergarten teacher and her end-of-kinder medal.

Laternenfest in Clara's school

LaternenFest in the German School. I have gained 5 kilograms since we came back home...

The children had to walk around in the darkened gym because it was raining outside. It was terribly hot in there. We enjoyed it anyways.

The childres sang German songs while we eated Sauerkraut, pork and potato salad. We felt a bit back in Dresden.

The Procesión of the Virgin

We found these very elegant gauchos making a procession on December 8th in Atos Pampa, Calamuchita (in the countryside). They wend behind an image of the Virgin, making a 'procesión'. Look Ana, I think the hat is the same people use in Andalucía. The boots should be like an acordeon like here. The women wear long skirts but there were some dressed as men too.

They carried the flag. The girls are wearing men´s clothes. Los Reartes is the name of a town nearby.

This one was particularly elegant. He had (silver?) coins in the belt (faja). The horse is wearing metal jewlery, too.

Children also participated.

Dry spring in Córdoba

A typical view of the UNC campus last October. Jacarandás in bloom, dying grass, soil so dry that walking there makes you feel like you are in the Old Testament.

My new lab

My desk. I have a nice view to the yard. The desk is the one I used at home as a child.

There you can see the totality of my present equipment: a function generator I borrowed from the electrophysiology lab, two bottles of ethanol, one tube rack.

My other room/lab.

The view from the yard. The windows on the left and in the center are my rooms. I am on top of the old animal facility (Bioterio). We are building a new state-of-the-art animal facility to the left of this building.

The main entrance of the Institute.
